July Monthly Treasure: "Oprah Said Balance, We Say Nurture: Your July Reset"

As we step into July, let’s lean into something we often forget to give ourselves permission to do: NURTURE.

Yes—Nurture. That beautiful, life-giving act of tending to what’s growing. Whether it’s your business idea, your body, your relationships, your self-worth, or your bank account—what you nurture will flourish. And what you neglect? Well, it withers.

This month’s GEM is “Nurture”—because growth doesn’t happen in chaos. It happens in care. In intention. In love. This is your reminder to slow down, lean in, and take the time to water the seeds you’ve already planted.

Here are 3 ways to bring more nurturing energy into your life and business this month:

🌿 Protect Your Peace
Nurturing starts with YOU. Create intentional space for quiet reflection, prayer, journaling, or just sitting in your favorite chair with your favorite tea. When your soul feels safe, your vision can bloom.

🌿 Pour Into What Matters Most
You don’t have to chase every shiny thing. Focus on the people, projects, and passions that feed you—not drain you. Real nurturing is about quality over quantity.

🌿 Invest in Community That Grows You
You were never meant to do this alone. Surround yourself with people and spaces that see your potential and pour into it. Let this be the season where collaboration replaces competition, and where safe, sacred community becomes your secret weapon.

Here’s how Oprah is helping me nurture the “Whole” Me….

Last week, someone shared the Oprah’s now-famous 8+8+8 rule: 8 hours of work, 8 hours of rest, and 8 hours for YOU. Simple, yet profound. And while I’ve always been very intentional about nurturing the Whole Me—mind, body, spirit, business, and relationships—I had never thought about it broken down quite like this.

Something about the clarity of that formula just clicked. It felt like permission and a plan, all in one.

So I decided to give it a try for a week. I honored 8 hours of sleep (yes, even when my to-do list begged me to stay up), kept my work within healthy boundaries, and reclaimed that final 8 for things that truly nourish me—stretching in silence, reading something just for joy, a long walk in the park, dancing in the middle of my living room, even sitting in stillness. It wasn’t always perfect, but it was powerful.

What I love about this framework is that it makes it easier to return to balance when life inevitably gets chaotic. Because let’s be honest—there are seasons when nurturing yourself slips to the bottom of the list. But now, when I find myself out of rhythm, I can ask a simple question: Where’s my 8?

This month, let’s lean into nurturing with intention. Not perfection—just presence. And if you’ve been looking for a way to care for the Whole You, Oprah’s 8+8+8 might be the gentle reset you didn’t know you needed.

Blossom & Thrive,

Meko
