LOOKING FOR FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES?

Below is a list of current grants & microloans available for women entrepreneurs.


The program provides local Newark organizations and individuals with microgrants to support projects that create vibrancy in their neighborhoods. Local changemakers and leaders often have ideas for solutions to support their neighborhoods, but they may not have access to the necessary financial resources.

Who Can Apply: Newark residents, Newark-based organizations and Newark-based small businesses with an operating budget under $500,000 per year may apply.

Deadline to Apply: 11:59 p.m. on February 21, 2025

Award Amounts: Up to $2,500 for individuals and up to $5,000 for 501(c)(3) organizations or organizations with a fiscal sponsor


The Small Business Improvement Grant offers reimbursement for costs associated with making building improvements or purchasing new furniture, fixtures and equipment.

Who Can Apply: Open to small businesses and nonprofits

Deadline to Apply: Accepted on a rolling basis

Award Amounts: Reimbursement of up to 50% of total project costs incurred up to $50,000. Only one award is allowed per EIN for the life of the program.


WomensNet proudly give away three $10,000 Amber Grants each month and three of the 36 monthly winners get an additional $25,000 Year-End Amber Grant.

Who Can Apply: Woman-owned business or non-profit in the US or Canada

Deadline to Apply For February: Feb 28, 2025

Award Amounts: $10,000

Application Fee: $15.00


EmpowHer grants support women who need early-stage business capital, a network of business advisors, or both.

Who Can Apply: Female entrepreneurs 22 years of age and older with businesses registered and operating solely in the United States.

Deadline to Apply: Accepted on a rolling basis

Award Amounts: Up to $25,000, with funds provided as reimbursements for business expenses upon proof of payment.


The Friends and Family Funders for under-resourced women, including women of color entrepreneurs. The HerRise MicroGrant offers financial support to innovative women who struggle to secure funding for their community-impacting small businesses.

Who Can Apply: Under-resourced women, including women of color entrepreneurs, across a variety of industries.

Deadline to Apply: Accepted on a rolling basis

Award Amounts: $1,000

Application Fee: $10.00


Offer women small loans starting from $500 up to $2,500* for first-time borrowers to start or grow their small businesses. Members can receive larger loans following successful completion of each six-month loan cycle.

Who Can Apply: The Elevate initiative currently brings affordable capital to Black businesswomen in New York, NY; Newark, NJ; Memphis, TN; Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; Birmingham, AL - and plans to continue expanding nationally over the next decade.

Microloan Amounts: Starting from $500 up to $2,500*
